Darryl laughed in the face of his threat while at the same time wondering how the other man knew his name when it was the first time they had met each other.
He quickly walked toward Ileana and asked, "Are you okay?"
Ileana nodded and tried to smile. "Yes, I'm okay. You came just in time. I shudder to think what would happen to me if you came a second later."
Then, she ordered the underworld soldiers to fortify the defense at the depths of the Underworld. Then, she made her way back after that was done.
A few minutes later, she arrived in her living room and activated her power for recuperation. Soon, colors returned to her cheeks. Darryl was sitting opposite her with furrowed brows.
"Darryl, that man is working for Archfiend. We need to find him to prevent the same thing from happening again!" Ileana said.
Darryl nodded and said, "Don't worry. I'm confident I can find him as long as he's in the Nine Mainland."
He had thought it through. He would make a portrait of the ugly old man once he was back at the Carter family's manor and would not stop looking for the man until he had arrested him. Then he remembered his purpose for going to the Ghost World and said, "Ileana, I need your help."
Then, he told her everything about Dax's situation. He wished he did not have to trouble Ileana since she needed to recuperate from her injuries but could not control himself when it came to Dax's life.
"Okay, let's go this instant," Ileana said without hesitation when she got a clear picture of the whole situation. She would not be where she was without Darryl, so it was not surprising that she would do anything to help him.
A few minutes later, they left the Ghost World and returned to the Carter family's manor. Darryl rushed to the back of the courtyard and was stunned to see that Dax, dressed in his sleeping robes, was sitting leisurely at the pavilion, chatting and laughing with Nancy.
It took him two seconds to react. He walked toward them with unbounded joy on his face and said, "Dax, you're okay!"
He thought Dax was dying, so he was naturally happy to see that he was doing well. However, he still had no idea that Debra had used her freedom to exchange for Dax's life. Ileana walked forward and greeted Dax and Nancy with a smile.
Dax nodded at her and then said to Darryl, "Of course! It would take more than that to kill me!"
"That is all thanks to Debra. By the way, she left a letter for you before she went out for a walk," Nancy said. She passed the letter to Darryl. She never read it because it was a private letter from Debra to Darryl.
'Debra?' Darryl was shocked. He knew that she used to be Artemis Sect's former Sect Master and had done some research in the medical field. He also knew that it was not enough to cure Dax. He started reading the letter, and the more he read, the more shocked he became. Then, he was so stunned that his brain began to buzz.
'Debra, you shouldn't have…' Darryl was immediately filled with panic and guilt.
