When he saw Yvette's expression, Darryl asked, "What's wrong?"
Yvette took a deep breath and told him what had happened. Darryl froze and stared at Yvette in an instant, unable to speak. So, Grunt was right. The power in Yvette was from a fiend. However, fiends other than Archfiend should have disappeared after the Great War between the gods and the fiends. Darryl was doubtful when he thought of the ugly man who broke into the Ghost World. Did he also have ties to Janson?
"Darryl!" Just as Darryl was deep in thought, Yvette bit her lip and asked tentatively, "My ancestor turned out to be a fiend. Will you kill me as well when you eliminate the Godly Region?"
Yvette did not know what to think. She felt complicated about the whole ordeal. The fact that her ancestor was a fiend was something that no one else would be able to accept if they were in her place.
"Silly girl!" Darryl smiled and pulled her in an embrace. "No matter what you are, you will always be my woman. If the Godly Region wants to come after you, they will have to climb over my dead body."
Yvette was moved by that thought and hugged Darryl tightly, feeling like she was the luckiest woman in the world.
Suddenly, they heard footsteps from a distance. Yvette and Darryl instantly became alert. Dozens of figures rushed toward them, and every one of them looked anxious. It was Chester and his group.
"Brother Chester!" When he saw Chester and the rest, Darryl was surprised but ecstatic. He could not help but shout out to them.
Yvette was also excited. Previously, when they were in Janson's ancient tomb, the other sects' elites were driven mad from the tomb's power and began to kill each other. Darryl and Yvette had been worried about Chester and the rest of them. When Darryl and Yvette saw them safe and sound, they were overjoyed.
Chester and the rest went toward them hurriedly when they heard the shout. They stopped in front of Darryl and Yvette, and Chester patted Darryl's shoulder. "I knew it. I knew you and Yvette would be alright."
"After we entered the tomb, we accidentally broke into a maze, and it took us so long to get out of there finally. Afterward, we bumped into people from the other sects, and we found out that the Heavenly Alliance attacked you…"
Darryl nodded as he understood how lucky they were. It was no wonder Chester and the rest did not turn on each other—they had accidentally entered a maze and thus were not affected by the tomb's power. What a fluke!
