With Kendall as a guide, Skylar brought Debra to a quiet courtyard.
Skylar let go of Debra's hand and said apologetically, "Debra, I know you will blame me for this, but I have no other choice but to do it. I can't let you go back to Darryl, and I can't give you up to His Excellency Archfiend, so I can only let you live here. Rest assured that I'll come to visit you often."
Then, he left with Kendall. He wished he could stay longer, but there were still many things that he needed to handle personally.
'It's over for me. Being imprisoned here is a fate worse than death!' Debra thought despairingly.
Meanwhile, back at the Carter family, Darryl, Chester, Yvette, Chang Er, and the others were sitting in the Grand Hall. Each of them was sporting a grave expression and feeling terrible.
A day had passed since Darryl had sent his men to investigate Skylar's whereabouts after he stole the Devil Sealed Mirror from the Ghost World, but they had not received any news yet. Darryl also came up empty-handed when he checked on the Soul-devouring Bloodworms that were wreaking havoc inside Dax and Neil's bodies.
Skylar and Debra were nowhere to be found, while Dax and Neil's lives were in danger. All that caused Darryl to feel an unprecedented sense of failure.
Chang Er spoke up in a bid to comfort him. "Don't worry, Darryl. Zhu Bajie is on his way to bring the Divine Farmer here. I believe they'll arrive soon."
Darryl nodded. The Soul-devouring Bloodworm was highly poisonous, and he had no choice but to pin his hopes on the Divine Farmer.
Suddenly, Zhu Bajie's laughter could be heard from outside. "Brother Darryl, I've brought the Divine Farmer with me."
Darryl hurried out to greet him, only to see Zhu Bajie and the Divine Farmer walking in slowly.
"Senior Divine Farmer!" Darryl greeted the man excitedly. He should have called him Master as he used to train under him, but the Divine Farmer did not care for tedious etiquettes, so Darryl called him Senior.
The Divine Farmer nodded and exchanged a few words with Darryl. Then, he began to check Dax and Neil's pulse. For a while, the entire hall was silent. The Divine Farmer's expression turned solemn when he finished checking their pulse.
"Senior, is there any way to remove the Soul-devouring Bloodworms from their bodies?" Darryl asked with hopeful anticipation. The Divine Farmer was the Medicine Ancestor, so if he could not cure them, then no one could. All eyes fell on the Divine Farmer in an instant.
The Divine Farmer pondered for a while and said slowly, "When I was young, I once obtained an ancient book with a record on the Soul-devouring Bloodworm. The worm is derived from the power of the fiend soul, and there is no way to cure it in the Human World."
'No!' Darryl felt like he had been struck by lightning. His mind went blank, and the only hope in his heart instantly shattered. It was the same for the others, and the atmosphere in the hall became gloomy.
"But it's not incurable. There is a kind of glazed water in the Godly Region. The Soul-devouring Worm would dissolve after one drank it. However, that glazed water is a special holy artifact that belonged to the Nine Heaven Emperor, making it near impossible to get it."
