"You might as well stay here since His Majesty had said so. I will arrange a few maids for you. Just let them know if you need anything else," Empress Heidi said with a smile to Darryl. Then, she also left the main hall.
'Sh*t!' He was in a panic and almost burst into tears. 'How can I stay here when I need to bring the glazed water back as soon as possible to save Dax and Neil?'
He was going to take the opportunity to slip away, but his fairy soul was sealed. There were also countless soldiers guarding the hall. That plunged him to the depth of his despair.
On the other side, Princess Dorothy was waiting anxiously for updates in her room. 'Did Father manage to catch Grunt? Would he kill him? Did Mother explain everything to Father?'
Then she heard a gentle voice calling her name. "Dorothy." Empress Heidi had come to tell her the good news.
"Mother! How was it?" Princess Dorothy asked anxiously.
Empress Heidi smiled and chided her. "Look at you panicking like that. You're old enough to know not to make me worry." Then she exhaled lightly and said, "Your father has agreed to the marriage."
Princess Dorothy was overjoyed. She hugged Empress Heidi and thanked her. "That's great, thank you, Mother!"
She could finally relax. She felt unbelievably happy just thinking about getting married to Grunt.
Empress Heidi was in a good mood too. She smiled and said, "I should scold you for being so willful, but I have to admit that you've chosen quite a good match for yourself since Darryl is the Nine Heaven Sage, but even so, I had to pull out every trick in my books to convince your Father. You can't be so willful anymore once you're married, understand?"
'What did Mother just say? Did she just say I'm marrying Darryl?' A jolt of shock coursed through Princess Dorothy. "Mother, did you say I'm going to marry Darryl?"
"Yes, what's wrong? Is it too fast for you? Silly girl, your parents will be the laughing stock in the Godly Region if you don't marry him after having done the deed," Empress Heidi said with a smile. She still had not noticed something was amiss with Princess Dorothy.
"No…" Princess Dorothy kept shaking her head, and tears threatened to fall. "Mother, you've got the wrong person! The person that I want to marry is Grunt!" Her delicate face darkened at the thought of Darryl. "How can I marry Darryl when he led the demons to battle Father? Besides, he and Father are like oil and water!"
Empress Heidi frowned. She was stunned. The next second, displeasure colored her face. "Dorothy, what nonsense are you talking about? How can you be so reckless with your life's happiness?"
She thought that her daughter was being frivolous with her heart. How could she fool around with Darryl and say that she wanted to marry Grunt the next? It was understandable for her to have made a mistake since the day's coincidences were just one too many.
"Mother…" Princess Dorothy said in a panic. However, her mother interrupted her. "Dorothy, you are a princess, so you should not be so frivolous with your heart. We've agreed to your wedding because we've seen the disheveled state you and Darryl were in, and now you say you want to marry Grunt? Don't blame me for being ruthless if you continue to be like this. There's no going back on your marriage to Darryl now that your Father has agreed to it! From now on, you are to stay in your room in preparation for your wedding!"
Then, she left the room in disappointment.
