Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 4002

"Will do!"

The thousand of Five Poison Sect disciples called out in acknowledgement, taking off in Veron's direction.

In any other situation, Veron would have long left the Five Poison Sect disciples in the dust. Yet the spell she had just cast, 'Ivory phoenix piercing the sun' had taken up a huge portion of her internal energy. Thus, her flying speed had been affected as well.

Just then, in mid-air.

Veron bit her lip, flying ahead with all her might. The Carters and the Hidden Hero Sect must be desperate for news by now, she had to get there to meet them.

She had thought it all through. She would meet up with Chester and his men, then return to the Five Poison Sect.

Yet Veron could feel the waves of energy radiating from behind her. From how it sounded, it was clear that there were a good number of people going after her.

Veron turned her head slightly to look backwards. What she saw flooded her senses with panic.

Mid-air behind her were a few thousand Five Poison Sect disciples, hot on her heels.

At the sight, Veron tried to double her speed. Yet she had used up too much internal energy, and there was nothing she could do.

Just then, the few thousand Five Poison Sect disciples spotted Veron as well. They whooped with glee.

"Give it up, Veron Lange!"

"You thought you could get away with a sneak attack on our Sect Master?"

"Stop running, come on, you're not getting away this time…"

The roars and cries were endless. All these Five Poison Sect disciples were nothing but smug. Capturing Veron was an act that would bring great glory to them. They could hardly wait to get to her.

None of these disciples would have dared to behave with such insolence in the past. But now Veron's internal energy had taken a huge blow, and they had nothing to fear.

Veron pretended to not hear them at all, soaring forward with all her might. She kept her expression neutral despite the climbing panic in her heart.

She'd finally escaped, through trouble and turmoil. There was no way she was going to be captured and sent back, or the rest of her life would be spent in agony.

It seemed that fortune was not favoring Veron, and neither was the weather. The skies had still been considerably clear before, and now it was abruptly covered in thick fog.

Veron had never been too familiar with the layout of the Five Poison Sect. In the thick, opaque fog, she had pretty much lost her way.

Veron could hardly bear to care anymore. She charged forward with all her might.
