“It hurts!” said Veron weakly.
“It hurts so bad! Am I dying Debra?” asked Veron. Her tone clearly softened after clearing up the misunderstanding.
Debra took a deep breath and tried to comfort Veron, “Don’t worry, I swear that i” ll save you!”
Debra racked her brains, trying to recall anything that might help Veron. However, there’s nothing that Debra could think of to help pull herself out of this situation at hand.
Veron saw the desperation in Debra’s eyes, she finally understood that there was nothing Debra could do too.
Veron could not help but think to herself ‘Is this my fate? Am I destined to die here?’
Veron could clearly feel how the poison was numbing her vital organs, she could feel her blood losing heat and there was an unknown source of pain coming from somewhere from her body.
Veron finally could not take it anymore and she writhed around in pain, thrashing on the floor.
Debra was shocked by Veron, “Veron! Are you okay?”
Suddenly, the iris of Veron turned a sickly green. It was as if she was possessed by something.
Debra could not have known that the poison was already affecting Veron’s nervous system and she was slowly but surely losing her grip on reality.
Before Debra could react, Veron suddenly sat up, her hand shot out, and grasped Debra’s hands.
Debra, without her internal energy, was no different from a normal person. There was no way she could have reacted in time to dodge Veron’s sudden actions.
“Miss Lange, calm down,” said Debra.
