However, those divine soldiers and generals did not know that at that time, the White Tiger King had wanted to stand up for Darryl, but Darryl had stopped him before he could do so. He did so because he did not want the demon race to get involved in his personal grudge.
"Grunt!"
Darryl knew that Grunt had successfully confused those divine soldiers and generals. He sneered and said, "Whatever you say, we both know the truth."
As he spoke, his tone became colder. He looked at Grunt and said, "Besides, I didn't ask the demon race for help because you are such a scumbag. I don't even need someone else to help me. Killing you will be as easy as turning my palm."
Darryl's words were in a low but domineering voice.
Grunt's face turned red when he heard the contempt in Darryl's words.
Then, he looked at Darryl intensely and sneered, "Well, well, Darryl, don't you want to kill me? You have the chance now."
He pulled out his golden spear and pointed at Darryl from afar as he spoke. "Darryl, let's fight one-on-one. Kill me if you can. If you can't kill me, come with me to the Nine Heaven Emperor and explain the plot between you and the demon race!"
Grunt looked fearless as he sneered in his heart.
If it had been before, Grunt would not have taken the initiative to challenge Darryl. After all, Darryl was too powerful. However, things were different then. Grunt could feel that Darryl's power of the fairy soul had not fully recovered, so he was weaker than he was before.
Darryl chuckled when he saw the confident look on Grunt's face and said scornfully, "You think too highly of yourself, Grunt. You want to best me in combat? Who do you think you are? The Nine Heaven Emperor may think highly of you, but in my eyes, you are just a despicable scoundrel!"
Darryl was not stupid. He had not fully recovered his power of the fairy soul yet. If he fought with Grunt impulsively, he would be courting death.
Darryl had made up his mind. That cave had a natural advantage—it was easy to defend but hard to attack. As long as he stayed at the cave entrance, Grunt would not be able to break in easily.
Grunt's face turned red with rage when he heard what Darryl had said.
Grunt wanted to rush in and take Darryl down, but he controlled his impulse when he thought of Darryl's other abilities.
There was something wrong with the cave, so he could not rashly go into it.
Besides, Darryl had great attainments in the art of formations. He could not underestimate his enemy. The only way was to force him out.
