"Honorable Master Darby!"
Leia cried in shock at the scene before her, worry written all over her features.
Grunt's gaze on Darryl hardened as he spoke with barely-concealed satisfaction. "What else have you got? Come on, bring it all out before you lose your chance."
As he spoke, Grunt landed swiftly at the cave entrance. He gripped the golden spear in his hand, taking his time to make his way toward Darryl.
F*ck!
Seeing Grunt approach filled Darryl with an unspeakable rage, yet there was also helplessness.
"Stop!"
Before he could reach any closer, a cry had sounded through the air. Leia had appeared in front of Darryl in one swift move, blocking him with her figure.
"You shall not harm Honorable Master Darby as long as I am here." Leia stared Grunt dead in the eye, her exquisite features hardened with determination.
Leia knew that her skills were no match for Grunt's, and she would hardly be able to take even three attacks. Yet, she had no choice. Darryl was a hero to the Demon Warrior Tribe, as well as the man she liked. She could not just stand idly by and watch as Grunt killed him.
"Leia!"
Darryl was torn between feeling touched and panicked. He said, "This is not your battle. Please get out of the way."
Leia stood frozen on the spot, devoid of hesitation or the will to move. Darryl was very much touched by that, but that fight was a personal grievance between him and Grunt. He could not drag her into it, and he also knew that she would be no match for Grunt.
Leia refused to move. With an expression of steel determination, she said, "Don't worry, Honorable Master Darby. I won't let any harm come to you."
Darryl did not know what to do with her insistence.
"Tsk, tsk…"
Grunt could not help the smirk he let out as well, mocking Darryl. "You're quite the man, Darryl. There seem to be women willing to throw themselves in front of you wherever you go. The great Nine Heaven Sage, relying on a lady to fight for him. Would you be able to live that down?"
Grunt bristled with rage as he thought of Princess Dorothy.
F*ck! Darryl had taken the girl of his dreams from him, and then he had gotten into an entanglement with the White Tiger King's daughter. There was no way he could let a b*stard like that live. he had to get rid of him
However, Darryl remained silent with a cold smile.
