As he spoke, the boy's gaze flashed sinisterly. "So, I was right. That b*stard did have his sights set on you from the very beginning."
"Come on!"
The girl's face flushed red once again as she stomped in indignance. "What are you going on about, Group Brother? He just met me. How could that be possible?"
The man shook his head, speaking in an arrogant tone. "You don't know men well enough, especially not perverts. They see a pretty woman and instantly want her for themselves. Men like that love to show themselves off in front of pretty women."
The man pointed at a retreating Darryl. "What he's doing now is a great example. He's going to face off against the wolves because he wants to prove himself to you.
"Too bad his lust will be the death of him. He's far too confident, and the wolves will eat him alive.
"That's why you should not even talk to people like that in the first place. Even if he does get mauled by the wolves, he deserves it."
The girl froze. She stared intently at Darryl's back, falling silent.
A few seconds later, she snapped back to her senses. She could not help but say softly, "But I honestly think he just wanted to help and had no intention of taking advantage of me."
The man shook his head and chuckled to himself. "You're too naive, Group Sister."
Just as the pair talked, Darryl had made his way to the forest. In an instant, the wolves turned to focus their gazes on him. They let out a series of howls, and their gazes were as cold as ever.
At the same time, the wolves radiated ferocious energy that enveloped the entire forest.
The man flashed a smile. His gaze grew even colder.
'That homeless-looking guy had tried to take advantage of my group sister, and now he was provoking the wolves. He truly has a death wish.'
The man was certain of how that would go—Darryl would be torn apart by the wolves.
Next to him, the girl stared at Darryl's retreating figure in silent awe.
That man was courageous. He would take on the wolves without any fear at all.
