"We're all suffering from the fall from grace," Kendall muttered to herself as she sighed when she looked at the Golden Scale Python. "Well, I guess our encounter can be considered one of fate. I'll help you out."
As the words rang through the air, Kendall summoned her inner energy to soar into the air and then into the poisonous scorpions.
After about an hour, about a thousand poisonous scorpions finally retreated when they witnessed Kendall's powers. They left the ground littered with carcasses.
Kendall picked up the inner cores on the floor, ingesting them one by one. Instantly, she was filled with energy.
A short while after, Kendall turned around. She noticed that the incredibly long body of the python was covered in bite marks, making for a bone-chilling sight. However, the python had impressive healing abilities, and its scales were rather strong. The countless bite marks were mostly epidermal lacerations.
However, due to the numbing effect of the poison, the python was frozen. Even the slightest move was difficult.
If it were not treated in time, there was no way it could hold on for much longer.
Kendall stared at the python as it stared back at her. It flicked its tongue in and out with a gaze full of wariness.
The Golden Scale Python had incredibly high sentience. Even though the woman saved its life, it did not let its guard down for a single second. It knew that some human beings could be scarier than the most venomous beasts.
"Don't worry!"
Sensing the wariness in the python's eyes, Kendall exhaled as she spoke slowly. "I was just passing by when I saw those poisonous scorpions attacking you. I thought I'd help you out. I'm not going to hurt you."
As she spoke, Kendall studied the python's condition briefly. She said, "You've been poisoned pretty badly. You'll be in pretty bad shape if you're not treated in time. As the Five Poison Sect's Sect Master, that is my specialty. Nod, if you trust me, and I'll treat you. How's that?"
Kendall's exquisite features seemed sincere when she spoke.
Even though the python was not fully-grown, it was smart and conscious enough to understand the human language. It fell into deep thought as it considered Kendall's words.
Several seconds later, the python turned to Kendall and nodded.
Kendall let out a sigh of relief. She slowly made her way toward the snake and began to treat the poison in the python's body.
