That kid!
At the sight of Queenie's retreating figure, Darryl fought the urge to cry out in amusement and annoyance.
Uhh…
The next second, Darryl turned around and saw that Celine had opened her eyes, watching him with an unreadable expression. Darryl was at a loss for words.
She would not have heard what Queenie had just said, right?
Darryl flashed a smile. He said politely, "Ah, you're up?"
"Yes!
Celine responded, putting on a calm expression despite the wild pounding in her heart that would not calm down no matter how hard she tried. She had heard every word of Queenie and Darryl's conversation.
She was a rational, level-headed person and was embarrassed when Queenie brought up the bet she had made with Darryl.
However, Celine did not show it. Instead, she pretended to ask, "Where's Queenie?"
"Oh, her."
Darryl startled briefly. Then, she said, "She said she was hungry and went to get some food."
Celine did not say anything further. She bowed her head, deep in thought.
The air was wrought with tension.
"What's up?"
A few seconds later, Darryl asked, "Is something on your mind?"
"No," Celine scrambled to answer before swiftly changing the subject. "Darryl, what do you plan to do from here onward?" She did not wish to bring up the bet at all; that had been embarrassing.
Darryl pondered briefly before saying, "I'll head back to the World Universe and meet up with Chester and the rest. I don't know what's been happening with the Carter family members since I left for the Godly Region."
Darryl watched Celine closely. "Have your powers recovered?"
Darryl could see that Celine's face was still a little pale. It was obvious that being held captive at the Maple Courtyard for a few days had significantly harmed her powers.
