'Dammit!' Prince Aurin's face flushed red with anger at being slandered by the mother and son duo. It seemed like they would stop at nothing to gain complete control of the Godly Region.
"Helped Darryl, the criminal, escape?" Lute Belle furrowed her brows in confusion when she heard that. "Didn't Darryl help in the annihilation of the fiend race? How did he suddenly become a criminal? From what I know, the Innate Spirit Stone prophesized that only Darryl had the ability to annihilate the fiend race completely and he, in fact, proved that. Also, he was locked up in the Infernal Shadow Prison because of the Godly Region and Empress Nuwa sacrificed herself in order to save him.
"After that, Darryl helped the Godly Region successfully defeat the fiend race. It could be said that the peace that you all have now is only possible because of him, so how could you throw him into the Sky Prison?"
Her reasoning was logical and left no room for debate.
Suddenly, Prince Auten, Empress Heidi, and the officials became embarrassed and none of them knew how to answer her. As for Prince Aurin, who was standing by the door, he was excited and exhaled deeply in his heart while thinking that someone was finally making sense here.
Finally Empress Heidi was the first to respond.
"Hahaha! You don't have the complete story. It's true Darryl earned his merit, but he also committed a heinous crime. He hid his identity when he was annihilating the fiend race. It was because of that that the late Emperor missed an opportunity and finally perished with Archfiend Antigonus. In other words, if it wasn't for Darryl, the late Emperor wouldn't have died at all. Locking him up in the Sky Prison is already mercy," she explained to Lute Belle.
Prince Auten quickly nodded his head in agreement. "Yes, his crime is bigger than his contribution. Locking him up in the Sky Prison is compassionate on our part but Aurin let him go without us knowing. He completely forgot about who was the cause of the late Emperor's death. Don't you think that he should be punished?"
Lute Belle smiled bitterly and shook her head at their explanation. "Don't the two of you think that your reasoning is too far-fetched? Life is unpredictable. Darryl hid his identity for his own safety. You can hardly call that malicious intent. And chalking up the late Emperor's death to Darryl? Now that's forcing it."
Her reply caught Prince Auten off guard. His expression was one of embarrassment.
