Everyone insulted Derrick. To them, it was impossible for him to trap Herod and other mountain bandits.
"Thanks to the ancestors for protection…"
At that moment, Old Master Stanford knelt on the ground, trembling, and bowed to the ancestors.
"Thanks to the ancestors who manifested, or else, the Stanfords would have been dead."
Old Master Stanford was at old age. Hence, he was deeply convinced about the illusion of the manifestation of the ancestors.
Darryl squinted and looked at Selina. "How about that? Young Miss, you should believe me by now. What I said earlier was true, and none of them were lies. Young Miss, I'm sure you'll also keep your promise about that bet."
For a moment, Selina bit her lips as her face turned red. She was baffled.
As a matter of fact, Selina was reluctant for Derrick to be her husband. In the beginning, she had fought with Old Master Stanford, but she had to accept her fate as he had already made up his mind.
Until then, Selina had seized the opportunity to make a bet with Derrick to get rid of the bastard.
However, Selina had not expected that Herod and the mountain bandits were indeed trapped in the ancestral hall…
Darryl began to smirk at the speechless Selina. "Young Miss! You won't deny what you said, right?"
"I…"
Seeing Darryl approaching, Selina became embarrassed and stomped her feet. "Say whatever you want, but I won't marry you no matter what."
Immediately, Old Master Stanford could not help but scold her.
"Selina! Watch your manners. Your wedding tomorrow has long been fixed. How could you just call it off? Plus, Derrick has contributed to saving the Stanfords from a catastrophe.
"Though it was Stanford's ancestors who manifested and trapped Herod and the mountain bandits here, if it weren't for Derrick who led them to the ancestral hall, the mountain bandits wouldn't have been trapped so easily. So, your wedding should not be canceled!"
As Old Master Stanford spoke, he looked at Darryl with approval.
