The two medicinal herbs were the Cape Jasmine powder and the Datura powder. Each of the powders had different characteristics. If both were mixed, it would create a special odor. Once a person got in contact with the scent, they would experience unbearable itchiness. Darryl did it to teach Sheniqua a lesson for being arrogant and rude.
The faint odor quickly spread over the entire room. At first, Sheniqua did not notice anything. However, she slowly realized something was wrong.
"Umm…" Finally, Sheniqua groaned and started to wiggle unconsciously. Her body began to warm up, and she was experiencing excruciating itchiness all over her body. It was very hot and itchy.
Darryl laughed discreetly when he saw that. 'Wow, the effect takes place so quickly.' He looked at Sheniqua with a smile. "Hey, what's wrong with you? Why do you keep wiggling?"
"You—" Sheniqua's face flushed red, and she was speechless. "What type of incense are you burning?" she finally asked, unable to bear the itching any longer. She was not foolish, even if she had no idea what had happened. She became aware of a distinct odor in the room, and she immediately recognized it as the source of her body's discomfort.
"Just normal incense," Darryl answered and suddenly pretended to remember something. "Oh, no! I accidentally threw two medicinal herbal powders into the incense burner while studying them. Maybe that's the cause of the smell."
Sheniqua panicked when she heard it. "Why…why did you need to study those medicinal herb powders?" She thought, 'What a useless person! Always do more harm than good.'
Darryl scratched his head and pretended to be helpless. "I was just trying to look for a cure for Young Miss. Is that wrong?"
Sheniqua was angry and anxious. "What do you know about it? Do you have any medical knowledge? The doctors could not find a treatment for her sickness. What makes you think that you can find it? What an idiot." The itchiness became more extreme, and she started to shiver.
Darryl said nothing and just continued to look at Sheniqua with a smile.
"Wait!" Suddenly, Sheniqua thought of something and looked at Darryl. "How come you are not impacted by it if you throw it in by accident?" Darryl did not appear to be ill, and he did not exhibit any irritation.
Darryl smiled and said, "Well, maybe I have already tried the antidote, so the odor did not affect me." His eyes sparkled with sneakiness when he explained it to Sheniqua.
That was right. Darryl purposely pranked Sheniqua. Since he had the body of a sage, no poison could affect him, and he did not need to take any antidote.
"Then what are you waiting for? Give me the antidote now!" Sheniqua urged as the itchiness became stronger. She was angry and embarrassed when she said that. 'He must have done it purposely.'
Darryl stopped smiling and looked at Sheniqua with a serious expression. "Why should I give you the antidote? I'm not your master. I'm just a useless person."
"You—" Sheniqua was exasperated. She could tell Darryl did it to make her admit to her mistake. However, as Selina's favorite maid, she had her reputation to protect. There was no way she was willing to bend down and admit defeat to a useless person. She bit her lip and decided to tolerate the unbearable itch. In the beginning, she could still withstand it. However, after a few minutes, her face turned red, her legs were shivering, and her whole body was sweating. Obviously, she was near to her limit.
Finally, Sheniqua could not tolerate it anymore. She walked toward Darryl and grabbed his arm, and whispered, "Derrick… I was wrong. Please give me the antidote." Her voice was so small that if one did not listen to her carefully, one could not hear her at all.
With a playful expression on his face, Darryl smiled and said, "Sure! But what did you call me?"
"Young Master Derrick!" Sheniqua bit her lip and lowered her head to avoid making eye contact with Darryl. "Please give me the antidote. I can't stand it anymore." Her face was flushed red. She never thought that she would lose her dignity to Derrick and begged for mercy from a man whom everyone thought was a useless person.
