Darryl knew the Hexa Swordmaidens were not thinking clearly because they were still upset about their junior brother's death. There was no way to reason with them. Since it was impossible, the best option was to leave.
However, before Darryl could proceed, the ground shook violently as if struck by an earthquake. The ground gave way, revealing a massive pit a few hundred meters in diameter.
When the enormous pit appeared, a pillar of light shot straight into the sky. Meanwhile, a massive power formation encircled the vast pit.
"Argh!" The massive pit was directly beneath the Hexa Swordmaidens, Vincent and Sherman. They screamed in surprise and fell into the enormous crater. They would vanish at the bottom of the massive pit in the blink of an eye.
'What the f*ck?' Darryl was fascinated with the situation. 'What is happening?' He quickly strode to the edge of the enormous pit and looked down. He was stunned when he saw an energy vortex at the bottom. The Hexa Swordmaidens, Vincent, and Sherman were sucked into the vortex.
Darryl frowned. 'How could there be an energy formation hidden underneath the old jungle? Could there be a mystery down there?' He hesitated for a while and then jumped right into the vortex.
When Darryl entered the vortex, his brain started to buzz. His eyes could only see pitch black and nothing else. Without knowing how long it had been, he finally woke up.
'Damn!' He was shocked by what he saw. He was in a humongous underground city. The different levels of the building formed a row. There were many intersections and roads. He could see the boundary of the city. The entire underground city was almost twice the size of the Pure Yang Division's headquarters.
Every ten meters along the road, there was a massive stone pillar. A huge oil lamp lit up the city from atop the stone pillar. The underground city, on the other hand, was deafeningly quiet. There was not a single person in sight.
He noticed a thick layer of dust on the city's ground. It indicated that no one had been present for a long time. He also noticed that the architectural styles in that city differed from those on the Cryolet Continent. It looked more like the architecture in the Godly Secret Realm.
'Weird. Is this underground city related to the Godly Region?'
Darryl sat cross-legged on the ground. He began to control his divine power. He was injured during the last fight with the Hexa Swordmaidens.
Darryl felt better after a few minutes and decided to investigate the underground city. During the investigation, he kept a close eye on the surroundings and noticed that the buildings were not like those in the Cryolet Continent. Many of the locations had intricate hidden mechanisms. That was not all; many doors were locked with the Heavenly Secret Lock.
The Heavenly Secret Lock was unique to the Cyrolet Continent's Heavenly Secret Palace. Only the Heavenly Secret Palace's Master of Mechanism could open it. However, the lock appeared to be just a standard lock in that underground city.
Darryl came to a halt after a few minutes of walking. At the end of the road ahead, there was a stone door. The door was designed with an Eight Trigrams Lock. The lock was both complex and ingenious. He could see a row of hidden holes on both sides of the door's wall. Perhaps it had been too long because some black kerosene leaked from the invisible holes.
Those hidden holes were obviously the location of the mechanism for concealing the kerosene. The hidden holes would blast out the fire if anyone got too close. They would all be burned to death, no matter how many people were nearby.
'Who designed this place? It's full of danger, and I must watch closely every step I take.' Darryl slowly walked forward and avoided where he might trigger the mechanism. Slowly but surely, he was in front of the door. Without delay, he started studying the Eight Trigrams Lock on the door.
The Eight Trigrams Lock was very detailed and complicated, but it was a piece of cake to Darryl. Within a minute, he had unlocked it.
