As he spoke, Martin was about to step out of the clearing.
Then, a faint voice could be heard. "Since no one wants to step forward, I'll give it a go!"
As the words rang through the air, a tall and broad figure strode into the clearing slowly.
Clad in long black robes with a tall and broad figure, his gaze shone with a bone-chilling frost.
It was the True Flame Sect Master—Adam Bedford.
The True Flame Sect had once been one of the ten main sects of the Cryolet Continent. However, five hundred years ago, it began to go down before disappearing from the world's attention altogether.
Recently, the True Flame Sect had fallen to be only considered a second-best sect in the world. Members from more prominent sects and even pirates and hooligans hardly saw them as a threat.
The sect master of the True Flame Sect was Adam, a man of around thirty years of age. He was incredibly skilled and had once used a mere two years to develop the True Flame Sect's highest form of skills and powers. Due to his humble nature and the fall of the sect, he had gone unnoticed by most.
Adam's biggest wish was to return glory to his sect. He had come to town undercover and knew that he had struck gold when he saw Martin propose the duel.
There was an uproar as everyone stared at Adam with gazes laced with mockery.
"Who's this?"
"I've seen him once. I think he's the sect master of the True Flame Sect, Adam Bedford."
"The True Flame Sect? That second-class sect? Ha! This is interesting. He's going to beat Martin? In his dreams…"
As everyone spoke, they could not hide the mockery in their eyes.
To them, the True Flame Sect was nothing more than a good-for-nothing sect that had gone to nothing. Even as sect master, Adam might not be any match for Martin.
To tell the truth, Martin's skills were worthy and impressive despite him just being the head elder of the Heavenly Ocean Sect. There was no beating him.
The crowd's jeers grew, but Adam pretended not to hear them.
Huh?
Martin frowned lightly as well, scanning Adam from head to toe. "Would you like to have a go, Sect Master Adam? I'm afraid it might be a waste of your time."
His tone was calm but laced with a hint of mockery.
