At the thought, Rachelle cast a glance at Martin's blood splattered on the ground as a thought came to her. "Oh no, the pills…"
"The pills you worked so hard to make are all gone now."
All that could be seen was nothing but blood on the ground, and no sign of the pills. It was obvious that the Garans, while devouring Martin, had eaten the pills he was holding as well.
Oh man…
Darryl realized as such as well, tapping at his forehead worriedly.
He had been too caught up in releasing his anger, and had completely forgotten to have Martin hand the pills over before letting the Garans attack him. Yet it was too late for anything of the sort now.
Rachelle bit her lip at the look on his face. "Can you still make the pills, Darryl?"
"I can't, no."
Darryl smiled bitterly, shaking his head. "The crystal vial's shattered, and I'll need to gather the ingredients all over again. We won't have time to do that."
As he spoke, Darryl looked outside the hall.
It had been over an hour since he had let Evan and the rest go. They would be just about done with their battle against Prince Auten now…
Rachelle grew panicked at Darryl's response. "What are we going to do, then?" Darryl wasn't going to have his powers back without the pills, and she was extremely weak as well. How were they going to be any match for Prince Auten?
"Not to worry."
Darryl smiled at the look on her face, speaking in a comforting tone. "We'll be able to face up against Prince Auten even if we don't have our powers back."
Rachelle was a smart lady, and did not wait for him to finish speaking before she said, "Are you thinking of using these beasts against him?"
Darryl smiled, speaking with a few hints of confidence. "I'm certain Prince Auten won't be able to guess that a horde of Garans would come to my assistance at the very last minute."
As the final word rang through the air, Darryl exited the hall in big strides.
Rachelle stopped short, before hurrying to follow him.
