Zeke's expression shifted at the words.
Impossible.
Hardly anyone knew about the loophole near his fairy soul. How did this man know it?
"You…"
Amidst his anger and shock, Zeke's gaze flashed as he stared intently at Prince Auten. "Who… who are you, really?"
Prince Auten smiled lightly. He did not answer right away, and instead walked closer.
"You're about to die, anyways. I might as well tell you."
Prince Auten lowered his voice as he reached Zeke. "I am Prince Auten. It should be your honor to die in my hands." His voice was extremely soft, only loud enough for Zeke to hear him.
What? Prince… Auten?
Just then, Zeke's chest sank upon finding out his real identity. His brain buzzed blankly.
Hadn't Prince Auten been cultivating in solitude ever since he had failed to get the crown? How had he come to the Nine Continents, and changed his appearance?
Impossible, there was no way…
At the thought, Zeke tried with all his might to fight back. Yet he had barely struck before Prince Auten had already reached out, pressing a hand down onto his temple.
Thump!
Zeke's soul was destroyed with a dull hum as he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Just as he fell, Zeke's fairy soul energy drifted out of him.
"Indeed, I'm going to use this to rebuild my fairy soul. Success is getting closer by the second." Prince Auten gave a satisfied nod, mumbling to himself as he sat down cross-legged to raise his hands, rapidly absorbing Zeke's powers.
Prince Auten could clearly sense that his own energy was increasing by the second as he absorbed the powers.
Both Heather and Ambrose could not help but suck in a breath at the sight.
This man… knew how to absorb powers.
