The Wind Spirit Wolves flicked their tails at Antigonus' words, howling in what sounded like a response.
Circe was even more shocked as she reached Antigonus and could not help but say, "You… Are you alright? Gosh, I forgot to tell you there were Wind Spirit Wolves in here."
As she spoke, Circe's expression was nothing but apologetic and shocked. However, she was not used to lying, and she could not look Antigonus in the eye.
"I'm alright!"
Antigonus took a deep breath before responding. He tore off a strip of cloth from his shirt to bandage his wound, putting on a frail expression.
The truth was that those two gashes were hardly anything to Antigonus.
Circe sighed in relief at his response. 'Thank heavens he's fine. He almost lost his life just now.'
Circe realized that 'Beka' had not been hiding any powers after all, yet she was still confused, and could not help but ask, "How did they get so obedient all of a sudden?"
As she spoke, Circe stared at the Wind Spirit Wolves on the ground.
Antigonus fell silent before replying calmly, "About that… I learned beast language from a skilled wanderer of the world some time ago. I thought I'd try speaking to them when they attacked me. I can't believe it worked."
As he spoke, Antigonus pretended to wipe at the cold sweat on his forehead.
"That was close, though. I thought I was going to die."
There was no way he could tell the truth about the Fiend race blood, and thus, he could only make up an excuse.
'So, that's the case.'
Circe nodded in realization. There were many beast tamers across the world a long time ago who were able to tame the fiercest of beasts and even talk to them in beast language. However, it was a skill that had long since disappeared as time passed. It was incredible that the man with not much powers knew how to converse in it.
At the thought, Circe could not help but ask, "Where is that wanderer now, if I may ask?"
Antigonus smiled bitterly. "I learned beast language centuries ago. I really don't know where he is now."
Circe's expression flashed with disappointment and she did not ask any further questions. She saw Antigonus' pale expression and said softly, "You've bled a lot. Get some rest."
