Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 5722

Sensing Rachelle's fury, Darryl did not know whether to laugh or cry.

"Uhh…"

The pupil scratched his head at Rachelle's explanation. "You can continue, Brother Darryl, I'll… I'll come back later." As he spoke, he turned to leave.

Rachelle was about to explode with panic at the words.

Why did he not seem to understand that the situation wasn't what it looked like?

Just then, Darryl called out to the pupil. "Hold on. What's the matter here?"

The pupil stopped in his footsteps, hesitating before he spoke. "It's the Lange High Lady. She's been kicking up a huge fuss insisting to leave even though we've told her time and time again that we can't leave until we've found who attacked Miss Heather."

"She's been throwing tantrum after tantrum, saying we're holding her captive. In fact, she's at it right now."

As the pupil spoke, his expression was nothing but helpless.

Uhh…

Darryl frowned at the words. Veron really was a lot to handle.

At the thought, Darryl said to the pupil, "Alright, I understand."

As he spoke, Darryl turned to look at Rachelle. "Wait here for me. I'll come back for you once I'm done sorting out whatever's going on with Veron."

"You can do whatever you want."

Rachelle's face flushed crimson as she said impatiently, "What you do is none of my business."

Darryl flashed a pained smile, turning to leave with the pupil in tow towards Veron's room.

Whew!

Rachelle let out a breath as Darryl left, unable to hide the frustration in her expression.

Darryl really was a bastard incapable of keeping his word. She was far better off going out to scout for information instead of waiting around for him— she might even be able to find out where Prince Auten was.

Upon making her mind up, Rachelle was about to leave.

Huh?

Yet just then, Rachelle noticed a pill on the table in the pill room through the dim light.

It was obvious that Darryl had just made the pill.

All at once, Rachelle turned and walked over out of curiosity. She picked up the pill to inspect it, and reeled in shock. All that could be seen was that the pill was a beautiful shade of green, covered in thin blood-red veins. It was nothing like any pill she had ever seen before.
