Sigh!
Upon seeing Rachelle come out in a few outfits, Darryl could not help but sigh to himself.
It was true that Rachelle was indeed a stunner, and looked good in everything. It was such a shame that she was so arrogant and stand-offish.
Just as he was thinking to himself, Rachelle emerged with a few outfits that she had chosen.
Darryl got up to pay, before moving to leave with Rachelle in tow.
"Stand right there!"
Yet just then, the shop owner hauled Rachelle behind her in one swift move before grabbing Darryl's arm.
F*ck!
Darryl stopped short. He tried to wrench his arm free, but found that the woman's arm was quite strong. "What's the meaning of this, Madam? I paid already."
To tell the truth, the woman was merely mortal and not a cultivator, and all Darryl had to do was summon his divine energy if he wanted to shake her off. Yet this would hurt the lady for sure, and thus he held back.
The shop owner held Darryl's arm tightly, calling out loudly, "You paid, yes. But you're not the little girl's father. You're a human trafficker!" Her tone was firm, leaving no room for denial.
What?
Darryl did not know whether to laugh or cry at the words. "And what proof would you have of that, Madam?"
This lady had been watching far too many movies, hadn't she?
At the same time, Rachelle panicked as well as she turned to say to the shop owner, "Auntie, he's really my daddy." Rachelle did not wish to say the words at all, but she was in a hurry to turn back to her real self and did not wish to get into any more trouble.
"Don't worry, kiddo."
Yet the lady had no intention on letting go, and instead turned to Rachelle to say in a comforting tone, "I know he's threatening you, sweetheart. You had no choice but to say what you did, right? Don't you worry. I'll protect you, and make sure nothing happens to you."
The shop owner yanked Darryl's arm harder, calling out to the street loudly, "There's a human trafficker here trying to get away with his deeds, help!"
The street had been slowly filling up then, and there were a good number of people now.
The shop owner's voice was also loud enough, and many people crowded forward at the noise.
"A human trafficker?"
