"Aw, come on! You called me darling, didn't you? Trying to back out now, are we?"
"You're… shameless…"
The pair continued to bicker, their voices echoing through the air.
Finally, after a few hours of flying, Darryl and Rachelle landed where the Divine Farmer had been living.
This was a nameless valley a little over ten kilometers southwest of Donghai City. It was surrounded by mountains, and overlooked a beautiful lake. The Divine Farmer's house was right by said lake.
Whew!
Darryl took in the view around him, and could not help but nod in approval. This was a gorgeous place, and he made his mind up to move to a place like with Shannon, Debra and the rest once all was settled.
At the same time, Rachelle was mesmerized by the view as well.
"What a beautiful place." The next second, Rachelle exclaimed at the sight of the sparkling water before her. "It'd be wonderful if I could live in a place like this one day."
Having left the Cryolet Continent and gone through so many things, Rachelle was thoroughly exhausted.
Ho ho…
Darryl beamed. "We can do that, if you want. Build a home together, start a family…"
The words had barely left his mouth before Rachelle cut him off with a steaming red face. "Shut up! You won't be any part of it." Yet as she spoke, her chest raced slightly.
Ever since Adam had died, Rachelle had lost the last of her family. Being in an unfamiliar environment like the Nine Continents only made her feel more adrift.
Under these circumstances, Rachelle wanted nothing more than a home to belong in. And despite the fact that she hated Darryl, she was also beginning to be able to tell that despite all his playfulness and teasing, Darryl was a righteous man who did plenty of good.
Marrying him… didn't seem too bad, to be honest.
Just then, Rachelle's tiny face flushed crimson with embarrassment.
Oh man, what was she thinking about?
Oh?
