Reclaiming the CEO's Heart novel Chapter 122

Chapter 122 Something Amiss

Jack's chest wasn't as strong as a mature man's. He seemed kind of weak.

Thinking of Jacob's possessiveness, Avery left Jack's arms and kept a distance from him as soon as she steadied herself.

"Thanks! It's quite cold out here. Let's get inside."

Avery walked into the restaurant and noticed that Jacob was nowhere to be seen.

As soon as she took a seat, Jack intended to walk away to get some food for her. She agreed because she saw Andrew walk in.

Andrew, holding a drink, sat across from her in a gentlemanly manner. It looked like they were just shooting the breeze like classmates did.

Avery lowered her voice and asked, "Andrew, did you find anything?"

"Yeah, I got a message before we got on this ship, but I didn't have time to tell you earlier. It's just like what we thought. Someone changed your medical report. Even though he kept his head down the whole time, my people managed to snap a few pictures. Take a look and see if you know this dude."

Andrew sent Avery the cropped and zoomed-in photos.

They were still kind of blurry, but Avery could make out the general outline.

"Hold up, this dude...." Avery whispered.

"Do you know him?" Andrew asked.

It was a strange face, and Avery didn't know him.

But she had a good memory. She had seen this guy somewhere previously.

"Where did I see him before?" wondered Avery.

"What's wrong? Did you remember something?" Andrew whispered.

Something suddenly occurred to Avery, and she thought, "Luminary Asylum!"

On the day Avery went to visit Jane, a few security guards came out of nowhere and restrained Avery when Jane freaked out. The dude who had injected Jane with some sedative was just the guy in the pictures.

"I...." Avery tried to speak but chickened out, scared of someone overhearing.

"Andrew, you've done me a really big favor this time. Can you help me check again? I suspect someone's targeting me."
