Chapter 138 Demand Ransom
"No." Randy quickly interjected, "We still need to keep him to demand ransom."
After speaking, Randy was hit on the head by Carl again. "You're so straightforward. Can't you keep your mouth shut?"
Avery couldn't believe that someone could be so bold as to risk threatening Jacob for ransom.
Probably even before they could deliver the message, Jacob's men would have already found their hideout and dealt with them.
"How much are you planning to ask for?" Avery further inquired.
Carl replied, "He's so wealthy; we should at least ask for two hundred thousand."
Avery looked at him in disbelief. "Two hundred thousand?"
They were willing to take such risks for just two hundred thousand? Jacob probably thought they were mocking him.
Feeling uncertain under her gaze, Carl became less confident. "Isn't he supposed to be very rich? Surely he can come up with two hundred thousand? How about... one hundred thousand then?"
Avery was speechless. She even developed a sympathetic feeling towards these kidnappers.
If they were only asking for one hundred thousand, Jacob probably would have left them with intact corpses. But after seeing their demand for a ransom, they would deserve to be thrown to the sharks.
Seeing Avery fall silent, Randy weakly spoke up, "Um, what if he doesn't even have one hundred thousand? Maybe we can manage 40 thousand?"
Hearing their continuously decreasing demands, Avery sighed helplessly.
"Oh my! Bro, I've heard that these rich people seem wealthy on the surface but actually owe the bank a lot of money. Could it be that Jacob is a penniless guy? Then we would be at a loss if we kidnapped his child, wouldn't we?"
Unable to cry anymore, Avery sincerely advised, "How about... you try increasing the ransom a bit? Otherwise, I'm afraid Jacob will think you're deliberately insulting him."
Carl held up four fingers. "Then let's make it four hundred thousand. Would that be too greedy?"
