Nelly POV
I and Shantel arrived at the pack house, our steps echoing through the dimly lit corridor until we reached the imposing door to the Alpha's office.
Upon our arrival, Shantel gave me a mischievous smirk, leaving me with an unsettled feeling.
The pack guards stationed at the door let me in, and I immediately became scared and I silently prayed to the moon goddess as anxiety swept through me because I was acutely aware that I was the only one allowed to step into the Alpha's private office.
Entering the spacious office, my blood ran cold as my eyes came upon Alpha Kex.
He was seated in a grand high-backed chair, his posture exuding regal authority and an intimidating aura. Astel also sat beside him looking all mighty and high and it irritated me
Just the sight of Alpha Kex sent shivers down my spine.
"Alpha Kex," I began, offering him a respectful bow as I tried to steady my trembling feet.
His dark eyes bore into mine, calculating and intense, making my heart race. It was as if he was straight right into my soul.
This man was too scary, too terrifying.
"You will leave with Alpha Kex tomorrow," Astel's voice suddenly rang out in the room. His tone loud and clear as if leaving no room for negotiation.
My eyes widened, panic rising in my chest. I turned to where Astel was standing, but he looked away, his face impassive. Was he saying the truth?
"Leaving?" I whisper yelled as my voice came out in a questioning tune.
The idea of leaving with Alpha Kex to his dwelling was both terrifying and bewildering. I had heard his pack was the most inhumane place to ever be.
The Black Moon Pack was known for its brutality, filled with ferocious people, they were well-known and their alpha King was no other than —Alpha Kex.
He's the alpha of all alphas, the Werewolf King.
I may have never visited the Black Moon Pack in my entire life, but I had heard scary tales. Tales scary enough to make children pee on themselves and adults unable to sleep
Was Astel really giving me away to the ruthless alpha? What was he thinking?! What did I do wrong?!
"You heard me; I won't like repeating myself twice or there will be consequences!” Astel snapped icily, his deep voice sending chills down my spine.
I felt helpless and vulnerable, hot tears welling up in my eyes as I tried to fight back the rising panic. No, this couldn't seriously be happening.
I staggered backward, shaken.
The atmosphere in the spacious office grew tense, almost suffocating for me. I was almost losing control of my own breathing.
I shifted my attention back to Alpha Kex, my eyes imploring him. "Plea-please, Alpha,” my voice quivered, "Do…. Don't let me leave with you. I don't want to leave my pack." I stammered hoping he would reject Astel's offer.
Why would he even agree for me to follow him to his pack? I wasn't of any importance to him so why?
Alpha Kex remained unmoved, his cold, dark eyes unwavering.
