Return of the Crowned Heiress novel Chapter 438

Dexter had never regretted his decision to auction off the map more than he did now!

If he had known, he would've returned it to its owner, Stephan. That would've saved him all this trouble. Alas, no one was able to predict the future!

He took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. Then, he turned toward his wife and daughter and whispered, "I'll distract them. You two should make a run for it while I have their attention. Go look for help. Try to get someone to come for me."

Myra shook her head. Despite how nervous she felt, she firmly declared, "No, I want to stay here with you. As your wife, I'll stick with you no matter what!"

Kayla gripped her pockets and immediately said, "Mom, Dad, I'm quick on my feet. I'll go get someone to help!"

"Okay. Be careful. If things don't go as planned, you should find a hiding spot far, far away. Don't show yourself unless you're sure it's safe!" urged Myra.

Myra doted on Kayla. After the Walsh family went bankrupt, they weren't able to provide Kayla with a lavish lifestyle. Because of this, she felt even more indebted to her.

Kayla nodded and pursed her lips. She looked impatient and annoyed.

Only a fool would choose to stay here and suffer with both of them! Kayla was leaving—she was getting as far away as she possibly could!

Besides, she had the real map with her. If someone were to figure that out, it would be over!

Dexter and Myra didn't notice Kayla's disdainful expression. They recomposed themselves and began to negotiate with the men. Kayla, on the other hand, managed to gradually sneak off and escape into the night.

The man who orchestrated the entire thing was known as Mason Lloyd. He was a gangster and the leader of the entire group. Mason had committed plenty of crimes. He'd do anything as long as he was paid to do so.

Dexter had never interacted with someone like Mason before. He could only act as he usually would.
