"Are you saying that Mr. Johnson is after your family's assets, Eve? This is an important piece of information indeed. We need to be careful as we act since we would want to collect evidence, but not alert the enemies."

Kevin was quiet for a moment before he expressed his opinions.

I nodded and said, "I also feel like the Grayson family's attitude is pretty unusual. They were very courteous to me up front but seemed to be encouraging things to happen in the background so I would land myself in more dangerous situations.

"I don't know if they were working with Mr. Johnson, but this feeling made me very uneasy."

Kevin held my hand with unwavering yield gleaming in his eyes.

"Rest assured, Eve. No matter what they're planning behind your back, I'll be with you as we uncover the truth together. Right now, we need a more intricate plan to protect ourselves and to unveil the secrets of those in the shadows at the same time."

We started talking about the details of the plan from increasing personal safety, to secretly investigating Mr. Johnson and the Graysons, to the method of collecting evidence without being noticed. We meticulously discussed and made decisions regarding every detail.

As time went by, I slowly started to feel peace and conviction that I had never felt before.

Even though I knew that the Graysons were definitely involved in this, I didn't want to ruin the cordial relationship between us.

"Next, I plan to create a clear inventory of all the family's assets. Jack might be imprisoned but it didn't mean that he didn't have money."

I knew clearly that it was still best to take account of all these things, but I didn't expect those two women to be so despicable.
