After the Callahans learned that James was succeeding the position of Emperor in three days, they became incredibly high-profile.
Meanwhile, Yaroslav had gone to seek his leader.
However, he did not even get to see him.
Yaroslav was unsure why the leader refused to see him now but made a guess that he had been abandoned and was to become a sacrifice just like the Emperor.
He refused to give up and die like this.
After returning to his courtyard, he immediately called Madelyn.
“Come to the Capital right now.”
Madelyn never returned to Cansington. Instead, she was trying to find out the identity of the person helping Mr. Gabriel but to no avail. After receiving the call, she hurriedly headed over.
Yaroslav fueled his coal fire inside a room of the courtyard house while Madelyn stood aside respectfully. “Mr. Gabriel.”
Yaroslav looked at Madelyn and asked, “You didn’t return to Cansington?”
Madelyn nodded and said, “Yeah. There’s more to James than the surface. The Emperor fought with him for so long and still got beheaded. I’ve been secretly investigating him. What happened, Sir? You were in a hurry for me to return.”
“Madelyn, I need you to tell me how I can protect myself right now.”
Yaroslav looked worried.
Hearing this, Madelyn was stunned.
