James smiled and said, “I've known about Mr. Lee for quite some time, and I finally got to meet him today.”
The King smiled and asked, “What can I do for you this time?”
“It's nothing major. It's just that I've attacked the Tuckson family this time, and there will undoubtedly be a large number of people involved. Besides that, mercenaries appeared in the Capital and were even using military weapons. There’s something fishy about that. I'm afraid there will be a major upheaval in the military region, so I specifically stopped by to give prior notice,” said James.
The King nodded and said, “Well, that's to be expected. Go ahead. Abide by the rules regardless of who is involved. It's time for a clean-up and for a significant replacement of personnel. In fact, I've been wanting to take action for a while now, but there haven't been any opportunities. In addition, I was also concerned that if I took action against these people, the Capital would descend into chaos.”
Mr. Lee did not say anything. He just looked at James. He was also contemplating and speculating. ‘What kind of a person is James, exactly?’
Was he truly a hero for his nation and his people, or was he just a man with ambition?
The King continued, “Do what you have to and I’ll take care of the rest. I'll look for suitable candidates as soon as possible to fill some of the vacant positions so that there won’t be a mess.”
James felt relieved after hearing the King's words. He stood up, looked at Mr. Lee, and said, “Mr. Lee, I’ll take my leave now.”
“Hmm.” Mr. Lee then nodded gently.
James did not linger and quickly left.
After he left, the King then looked at Mr. Lee and asked, “What are you thinking about, Mr. Lee?”
Mr. Lee responded, “I was wondering what James was thinking about. Sometimes I can't see right through him. Everything he does is for the nation and its people. He puts on an admirable front of devotion to righteousness and a lack of fear. However, you can’t judge a book by its cover. I’m unable to infer what he’s really thinking.”
“Aren’t we going to ascend him to the throne?” asked the King. “If we’re having doubts about him now, what will happen later?”
Mr. Lee gave a small wave of his hand and said, “He’ll have no trouble taking the throne. It's just that someone in a high-ranking position must consider the big picture. James was too rash in light of the incident today. He did not take the repercussions into account. He seems to act independently and make decisions without consulting anyone else.”
The King nodded gently and said, “You’re right. Fortunately, it was successful. If there had been a slip-up, the upheaval it would have caused would have been enormous. Even though he had complete faith, it was still a bit of a gamble. As a high-ranking official, he can’t make such a choice. He can’t gamble with his decisions.”
