“What are you doing here? Who let you in?” Delainey walked in and glared at Maxine with suspicion.
Glancing at Delainey, Maxine asked coldly, “What? Can’t I have a look?”
“We should respect the deceased. You…”
“Alright, I understand. I’ll leave immediately.” Unwilling to prolong the conversation unnecessarily, Maxine turned to leave.
Glancing at the corpses on the ground, Delainey turned to leave too.
In the abyss…
James was treating his injuries.
However, his injuries were grave. They would not rejuvenate in such a short amount of time.
However, after a few hours of regulation, his condition stabilized. As long as he did not use True Energy recklessly, he would not be in mortal danger.
All this while, Thea had been keeping watch beside him.
Thea knew that he was gravely injured. As she felt bad about it, she remained silent.
“James…” A voice came.
James opened his eyes.
An elderly man was standing before him.
“Why are you here?” James looked at Lucjan and asked.
Lucjan said smilingly, “I was worried you’d be in danger. That’s why I came down here looking for you.”
Saying that, he scanned his surroundings.
However, he could not find any trace of Bryce. He asked, “By the way, I asked Bryce to come down here and look for you. However, hours have passed, and there’s still no sign of him. Have you seen him?”
“He came down looking for me?” James froze before asking, “Is that true?”
“What? Did he not?” Lucjan momentarily froze.
James shook his head and said, “I’ve been here treating my injuries all this while. Bryce never came.”
