Maxine shook her head. “No, I didn’t see him.”

Callan said spikily, “Don’t go about spreading nonsense if you didn’t see it with your own eyes. You’re simply speculating. Bennett said he was going to recuperate and restore his True Energy. He must still be somewhere inside the Cadens’ mansion. You should look around before coming to any conclusions.”

“I agree. Maxine, get the Cadens to look around the mansion for him.” James nodded in agreement.

Maxine left the group and headed to the front yard.
