James removed the clothing and mask of the unconscious disciple of the Gu Sect and wore them. Then, he began searching for the abducted martial artists in the underground temple without any fear of his identity being uncovered.
After searching for some time, he realized that the underground palace was huge. The deeper it was, the more heavily guarded it was. Even he did not dare recklessly infiltrate the area.
“Argh!”
“Release me!”
“You b*stards!”
…
James could vaguely hear the screams of agony from a distance away. Looking in the direction in front of him, he had a feeling that was the research laboratory. As he came here to save the abducted martial artists and to destroy the research laboratory, he did not act recklessly but instead left silently.
James believed his movements to be surreptitious. However, his every action was monitored by the Gu Sect.
“Sir, James has left.”
“Mhm.”
A smile crept up on Lucjan’s face, and he said, “He has taken the bait. Now, we wait.”
At that moment, James had left the underground palace surreptitiously and met up with Jackson and the others.
Upon his return, Jackson asked, “What’s the situation inside?”
James told him honestly, “It’s crowded with disciples of the Gu Sect. However, the abducted martial artists are also in there. The Gu Sect must have been in the process of injecting Gu venom into their bodies. As we’re running out of time, we should carry out our rescue operation at once.”
“But how?”
Jackson’s expression turned grim, and he said, “There must be traps lying in wait for us in there. If we simply barge in recklessly, we will fall into their traps.”
“We’ll fight to the end!”
An ancient martial artist brandished his sword, “What is there to be afraid of? There are so many of us here. Not only that, we have the leadership of James Caden. Even if Lucjan Owen shows up, we will tear him to pieces!”
James fell silent.
