The First Blood Emperor did not refute him.
The Grand Patriarch of the Blood Race had indeed crossed into the ninth rank. However, ever since he reached such a realm, he never once intervened in worldly affairs. There were several times in history when the Blood Race was almost eradicated. However, not once did the Blood Race’s Grand Patriarch intervene. It was impossible to convince him to slay the dragon alongside them.
“There’s no need to rush things.”
Ezekiel waved his hand slightly and said, “He chose not to intervene as he was unsure of his chances of winning. Once we obtain Dragonslayer, there’s no way he’ll continue to turn a blind eye to our cause.
“This is a dragon we’re talking about! There are treasures all over his body. We just need a little bit for ourselves. By then, the Blood Race would benefit the most from it. I’m confident that he would join us in creating a new world order.”
The more Ezekiel said, the more excited Lucjan got. Even the First Blood Emperor was tempted. However, he did not lose his rationality. He wanted to wait for Dragonslayer to enter its final stage and see if it was as terrifying as described in the legends.
Looking at Lucjan, he said, “As per our agreement, you’ll have the Primordial Sword, and I’ll have Dragonslayer.”
“Of course.”
Lucjan said, “I’ll hold up my end of the bargain and give you Dragonslayer. However, you’ll have to convince the Grand Patriarch of the Blood Race to slay the dragon with us.”
“I’ll try my best.”
The three briefly discussed slaying the dragon. Unbeknownst to them, Thomas was the one pulling the strings behind the scenes all along.
At the same time, in the pristine forest nearby Divine Sword Villa…
James and Callan were waiting for the sun to set. In the meantime, they discussed martial arts. James managed to gain more knowledge from the brief discussion alone.
