James rushed out of the ruined courtyard like a madman.
“Where did you go? Where in the world could you have gone?!”
At that moment, he was like a crazed beast and struggled to form coherent thoughts.
He had no idea where he was headed, nor did he know where to find Thea.
“Cansington! Right, it must be Cansington!” The idea suddenly popped into James’ mind.
He immediately rushed to the military region, boarded a private plane, and rushed to Cansington.
More than half an hour after James had left, Maxine arrived at the courtyard.
However, James was nowhere to be seen when she arrived. All that was left was the ruined courtyard.
She stood outside the ruins, and her lips curved into a frown.
Although she knew James would flip out after finding out Thea had left, she believed that it would only be temporary.
Maxine was sure James would overcome his sadness and cheer up again.
She simply needed to wait until he recovered from the initial shock.
Half a day later.
James rushed into the Callahans’ villa in Cansington.
As soon as he entered the Callahans’ villa, he bumped into Gladys, who was carrying her bag and about to head out. He rushed over to her and shouted, “Did Thea come back?”
“Huh?”
Gladys was startled by the figure that suddenly rushed in and shouted at her.
After realizing it was James, she sighed in relief. With a bright smile, she responded to him, “James, my good son-in-law. You’re back?”
“Did Thea come back? Where is she? Where’s Thea?” James bellowed frantically at her.
Gladys was taken aback by his shouting.
After a few seconds, she returned to her senses and said, “Shouldn’t Thea be with you? Hasn’t she been staying in the Capital all this while?”
“What? She didn’t return here?”
James looked like he had been struck by lightning. His legs gave way, and he collapsed to the floor, unable to get back up.
Gladys was unsure of what had happened. When she witnessed James’ unusual expression, she did not dare to approach or speak to James.
James stayed on the floor for about a minute. Then, he suddenly stood up, turned, and left silently.
Three days later…
