James' original intention was to deceive Maxine to reunite with Winnie first.
His strength would allow him to snatch Winnie away from her, and Maxine would no longer have leverage over him.
However, Maxine refused to negotiate and was only willing to let James see Winnie after staying married to them for three years.
After she hung up the phone, James sat on the sofa pensively.
‘What should I do?
‘Do I really have to marry three of them?
‘That’s out of the question.
‘I already have Thea. I won’t marry other women.’
“James.”
Cynthia’s voice reached his ears.
James regained his senses, turned to her, and asked, “Mhm? What’s wrong?”
“What did Maxine say?” asked Cynthia.
James sighed and said, “She isn’t willing to negotiate with me and insists on handing Winnie over after the three years of marriage are up. I don’t know where Winnie is right now, and I’m worried to hell since I don’t know what kind of person Maxine has become.”
“Then you’ll just have to marry us.”
Cynthia thought for a while and said, “In the end, you’re the one who benefits the most.”
James looked at Cynthia and Tiara for a moment and replied, “I have no choice but to compromise for now. I still refuse to marry the three of you, though. How about you two put on an act with me for now? After I obtain information on Winnie’s whereabouts, I’ll devise a plan to save her.”
Cynthia asked, “What kind of act?”
Tiara said, “I’ll do as you say, James.”
James replied, “I plan to pretend to get along with Maxine for now and proceed with the marriage. I’ll use the time to build up a good relationship with her and try to get the information I need. Once she lets her guard down, she might tell me where she’s hiding my daughter.”
The two women nodded simultaneously.
Haah!
James took a deep breath.
