Xandra could not believe her ears. She knew how powerful the Overworld and the figures guarding Mount Bane were. Thus, she did not expect James to be able to fight them to a standstill.
“I’m not sure if I can sense the magical object’s specific location. But since Mount Bane is safe now, I’ll head over there immediately. Wait for me, James. I’ll be there within a day.”
“Alright, then.”
James hung up the phone.
Then, he sat in a lotus position on the ground and absorbed Empyrean Spiritual Energy to replenish the Demonic Energy within his body.
His Demonic Energy had been depleted after the battle. It was not the True Lunar and Terra Energy he cultivated, nor was it his physical prowess.
As Empyrean Spiritual Energy entered his body, the Demonic Energy that was depleted slowly replenished. After some time, as his Demonic Energy was restored, James became energetic. He did not leave but instead waited patiently.
Before daybreak, Xandra Lafleur arrived.
She was wearing a pair of jeans, a pair of sneakers, cream-colored short sleeves, and a pair of sunglasses. Not only that, but she was also carrying a huge bag.
Upon seeing James at the foot of Mount Bane, she called out, “James!”
James immediately turned her head and saw Xandra. Upon noticing her youthful appearance, he smiled. He could not believe that she was a woman who had lived for a thousand years.
He stood up and greeted her, “Mother.”
Xandra removed her sunglasses and revealed her beautiful features. Her skin was fair and delicate, and she was simply drop-dead gorgeous.
“You did well, Son,” Xandra praised him. “Helpless and powerless, the earthlings are in despair facing the Overworld. Your efforts have brought us a moment of respite. Very well done.”
James smiled bitterly and said, “This is only temporary. Right now, the Overworld is everything we need to deal with. Once the seal is undone, there will be countless more worlds like the Overworld. When that day comes, it will be the end of us.”
