James immediately understood the meaning behind her words.
He did not comfort her and just smiled awkwardly. Then, he changed the subject. “I’ll find a way to get enough funds as soon as possible. We don’t have much time left and must complete Wyrmstead’s developments quickly. By the way, how’s the food reserves going?”
Quincy sighed softly.
After she sorted out her emotions, she said, “Everything is still under preparation. In the past few years, Wrymstead has united with Sol to promote agriculture. With the recovery of Empyrean Spiritual Energy on the earth, agricultural products of all kinds have been grown in large quantities. Our country’s current grain reserves will be enough to feed three hundred million people for ten years.”
“That’s not enough. It’s far from enough.”
James said, “Food is the basics for humanity’s survival. No one knows what will happen in the future. We must have enough reserves to get through unexpected crises.”
Quincy nodded. “Alright, I’ll pay more attention to this matter.”
James was relieved by her words.
Quincy suddenly thought of something and asked, “By the way, I’ve heard rumors that Thea, who disappeared many years ago, reappeared in Mount Bane and killed the strongest person on Earth, Tristen. Is it true? Is she that strong now?”
Thinking about it, Quincy’s pretty face was full of disbelief.
James smiled and said, “Yeah. Thea has been working hard in the past few years.”
Hearing this, Quincy felt slightly dejected.
She and Thea were classmates in high school and remained as best friends. She knew Thea very well. To her, Thea had always been a very soft person. She never expected for her to become humanity’s hero after so many years.”
“I also want to fight by your side, James.”
Quincy looked at James pleadingly.
She really did not want to continue helping James behind the scenes. Instead, she yearned to fight by James' side.
“What?”
James was stunned by Quincy’s words and did not know how to reply.
