Cody had his eyes on James’ potential. Besides, his master instructed him to befriend the earthlings before he came here.
The Ethos Realm was one of the most powerful worlds among the three thousand Sealed Realms. The Overworld, in comparison, was insignificant.
As they came from different worlds, their cultivation base would be different. In fact, the strength James demonstrated had far surpassed Cody’s expectations after he was able to withstand Hazel’s attack.
James looked at Cody and smiled.
Since he came out of his way to apologize to him, he let bygones be bygones.
Cody looked at James and asked, “James, Bane City is hostile to you. What business do you have in this city? Heed my advice, stay as far away as possible from Bane City. It’s no longer the city that you knew.”
Cody warned him.
When he encountered Cody by the city gate, James’ primary objective was to find out Magnus’ strength. Besides, he knew that Cody was strong considering that even his subordinate could send him flying with ease.
“Magnus Quinnton of the Overworld challenged me to a duel on Mount Bane in a week. I came here to find out his strength,” James explained.
Cody smiled and said, “That’s simple, I’ll get someone to investigate for you.” Then, he made a welcoming gesture, saying, “Follow me in. I promise no one would dare make a move against you.”
He spoke nonchalantly. James could tell that Cody was fully assured of his own strength. So, he accepted his offer and followed Cody into the city.
Previously, there were guards stationed by the city gate. Ever since Tristen was annihilated, they were dismissed, which led to the current situation. Even so, no one dared make a ruckus in Bane City.
