James believed this to be a likely scenario. That was because Lucifer told him that it was only with his father’s acknowledgment that James’ soul managed to merge flawlessly with his physical body. So, there was no way Lucifer wanted to go after his life. This made the Protector and Marquis the prime suspects.
However, this no longer had anything to do with James. Now that the Ancient Realm was about to be overrun by the Demon Race, he would not remain here any longer. In fact, staying here was much more dangerous than returning to Earth.
James headed to the mountain outside the city.
There, tens of thousands of cultivators gathered. There were originally 100,000 of them, but many perished at Mount Walvern, and some were implicated in the battle at the Divinity Sect. So, only approximately 50,000 of them remained.
Seeing James approach them, they stood up.
James arrived at the mountain’s peak and looked at them, narrating the chain of events that unfolded.
“This is basically what’s happening outside. Once it’s safe to leave, I’ll leave the Celestial Abode with you. However, the rest will depend on you after that.”
Harold stepped forward and looked at him. Doubtful, he asked, “Are you really speaking the truth, James?”
James glanced at him and said, “Why? Do you still not trust me?”
Harold shook his head and said, “No, it’s just that this is simply unbelievable. Although I don’t know much about my master, I don’t think he’s an evil person. There’s no way he colluded with the Demon Race.”
“Haha…” James smiled faintly and said, “The Divine Holy Emperor sacrificed the entire Divinity Sect to obtain the Demon Race’s cultivation method. Now, the sect has been reduced to a pile of rubble, and most of the disciples are dead.”
Hearing this, Harold’s expression turned grim.
James continued, “You should be careful around someone like him.”
