James really was just passing by the area.
The Sangrian Army would have been wiped out today if he had not happened to pass by the battlefield.
“Thank you.”
The female general expressed her gratitude.
She attempted to get up but had not fully regained her strength. As soon as she moved, an excruciating pain spread through her body. She inadvertently let out a painful groan.
Seeing her struggle, James said, “I might have saved your life but, your injuries were pretty serious and haven’t completely healed up. It’s best you rest for a while.”
“Mhm.” The female general from Sangria nodded lightly.
James looked at the other female soldiers sitting the in the distance, and his curiosity was piqued. He asked, “Why do you only have female soldiers? Are there no men in your country?”
Hearing this, the female general was shocked.
Looking at James perplexedly, she asked, “Have you never heard of Sangria before?”
James shook his head and said, “I’ve been cultivating in the mountains and rarely wander outside. I’m not very apprised on the affairs of the outside world.”
“Oh, I see.”
The female general explained, “Our country has been cursed, and men aren’t capable of surviving in Sangria. Men that stay in our country for over a month will end up dying inexplicably.”
“That’s a terrifying curse.”James was stunned.
A place where men could not survive. Was there really such a strange place in this universe?
The female general nodded and said, “Indeed. Women have always occupied our country, so we don’t have any men there.”
James’ curiosity in Sangria grew deeper.
He asked, “You mentioned your country was cursed? What happened?”
The female general shook her head and said, “I’m not too sure about the details. It’s an event that happened a long time ago in the past. All records about this point in history have been stored in the forbidden site of our country’s palace. Only Her Majesty, the Empress, has access to them.”
