“What else did Grandpa tell you?”
Thea tilted her head in an effort to remember and suddenly recalled a fact. “Grandpa said the technique recorded in the Medical Book Volume Two is called Invincible Body Siddhi. Mastering it will make you invulnerable to swords and bullets. However, it needs to be practiced alongside the Medical Book First Volume which will act as a guide.”
“Back then, Julianna wasn’t able to pierce through your skin with a knife in Dagon Fountain Villa. You claimed to be wearing clothes made from a special material, but now it's clear to me that you've changed your body's cellular structure with medicine.”
Thea felt the shame creep up on her as she recalled past events.
After reading the second volume of the medical book, James realized what it was trying to describe was a set of defensive martial arts.
However, he had yet to understand how to practice it.
His grandfather was a martial arts genius and was highly proficient in the field of medicine too. Since Thomas had read the contents of the book, it stood to reason that he must have also explained it to Thea.
Thea chuckled and continued. “Grandpa said there is one crucial key to mastering this set of martial techniques, and that is to regulate the entire body’s meridians to allow True Energy to flow throughout the body, forming a protective layer on the body’s surface. This creates an indestructible wall of energy that is impervious to swords and bullets.”
She did not know much about it and in the end, could only relay what Thomas had told her.
James listened attentively.
After reviewing what Thea had told him, he carefully went through the book once again to attempt to understand the intricacies of the technique.
He fully immersed himself in the medical book’s contents.
Thea waited for him in bed, but even after a long while had passed, James continued to stay awake reading.
She yawned sleepily. “Honey, that’s enough reading for today. Let’s go to sleep, and you can continue tomorrow morning.”
James set down his book and turned to look at Thea when she interrupted him. She was lying in bed. Her body was covered in a blanket, exposing only her head.
He shook his head slightly and refused her quietly, “You can sleep first. I’ll stay up a while more.”
“Mmmm… Come here, Honey.” Thea stretched her arms and hooked her fingers around his wrist. She smiled lasciviously as she invited him to bed.
James smiled faintly in response.
He was not at all moved by her actions, so he simply ignored her. He continued to bury his head into reading the medical book.
