Hearing this, Quirrell nearly exploded with rage.
This was the first time he had met someone who dared to speak to him in this way.
When he spotted Nathan, Colin let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Trying to get up, he greeted Nathan in a low voice. “General!”
Nathan's gaze fell on Colin. When he saw how badly injured he was, he asked in a dangerous tone, “Are you alright?”
Colin tried his best to smile. “I won't die, at the very least.”
A ball of rage welled up within Nathan.
Although Colin was technically his subordinate, they had worked together for so many years that they were practically sworn brothers.
How could he stand seeing someone beat up his brother like that?
“What's going on?” he demanded.
In a low voice, Colin replied, “They laid a trap for me.
He then told Nathan about the events that had transpired just before he arrived.
Quirrell snickered loudly. “Hey, watch it. It was you who tried to get fresh with my younger cousin and beat up my friend. We were only trying to teach you a lesson.”
“And now you want to turn around and pin the blame on us?”
Here, he turned and looked at Nathan with a faint smile. “Nathan, I heard you have a reputation for giving out fair judgment to everyone, including your closest friends.”
“Mr. Davier's daughter fell into your hands.
Without any consideration for Mr. Davier himself, you killed her immediately.”
“Now that one of your commanding officers has committed such a grave crime, shouldn't you kill a friend to uphold justice and do away with him?”
Nathan narrowed his eyes as he gazed at Quirrell. In a cold voice, he said, “I know who you are. You were once a very important figure in the South Army. People know you as Dragon in the South, and your real name is Quirrell Simmons.”
“You were born to be a hero. Why did you stoop to such low practices?”
“Quirrell, I'm afraid to say, you disappoint me.”
Quirrell's expression right now was very ugly.
“Don't you dare change the subject, Nathan.”
“One of your subordinates, the Captain of National Guards, beat up my friend and tried to sexually assault my cousin. You need to give me an explanation regarding this, at least.”
