Salute to the General novel Chapter 2005

Penny, Kylie, and Queenie sighed a breath of relief after Dennis and Tyranno were taken away.

Nathan grinned and promised, “It's fine now. Let's go.”

Penny nodded and replied, “Okay.”

Everyone returned to their respective rooms. On the way over, Penny asked curiously, “How did you know that something is off about Dennis?”

Nathan grinned and answered, “That idiot has a strange look in his eyes, and it's obvious that he is up to no good. Add that to the plot holes in his story, and it was easy to guess that there is something off about him. Turns out, I was right and didn't accuse an innocent man.”

Penny and Kylie were both stunned.

Nathan advised calmly, “You ladies should be warier of random, nice guys showing up. Villains are everywhere, and the smart ones are the worst.”

Penny and Kylie nodded in agreement. “Con artists nowadays are getting more and more creative. It's really difficult to tell who's genuinely nice anymore,” commented Kylie.

Back in the hotel room.

Nathan sat down on the sofa and asked Penny how the first gathering of the summer camp went. “Was it fun?” asked Nathan.

Penny replied with a grin, “It's just a normal meal and regular interactions with the other parents. Oh, the kids will be playing a game together tomorrow morning, and at night, there will be a campfire party. Parents are requested to attend the party with the kids, and every parent must perform on stage. Nathan, I'm no good at performing, so you'll have to do it, okay?”

Kylie giggled and teased, “Nathan is a master of all sorts of artistic and musical stuff. To him, performing on stage is probably as easy as counting his fingers. Am I right, Nathan?”

Nathan used to be from a rich family and had learned to play some musical instruments. However, he never enjoyed performing publicly, so he was a little hesitant.

Queenie's big, round eyes stared with anticipation when she requested, “Papa, I really want you to put on a brilliant performance in front of the other kids and their parents. I want to show them I have an incredible dad.”

Nathan didn't know what to do.
