By the time Nathan came to Sublime Room, Penny had already ordered.
She handed the menu to Nathan and asked if he wanted anything else.
After taking a glance at the menu, Nathan smiled and replied, “You've ordered most of it. We’re just missing a soup. Let's order a black soup. I heard that the black soup here is not bad.”
While Nathan and his family were placing their orders in a private room, a middle-aged man with a beer belly walked up the stairs with two of his subordinates and entered the room beside Nathan's.
That man was Sigurd Goodall's trusted subordinate. His name was Odert, and his nickname was Tubby Tabby.
Just as Odert brought two of his subordinates into the room, the server came over to serve tea and asked politely, “Sirs, would you like to order now?”
Odert said coldly, “We're waiting for a few others to come. I'll summon you when we need to order. Don't enter and disturb us otherwise. Here's a tip for you.”
With that said, he took out five hundred in cash and placed it on the server’s tray.
The server's eyes lit up, and he quickly replied, “Of course, of course. Please take a seat, good sirs, and please press the button to summon for me at any time. I’ll be right here.”
Odert waved him away. “You're dismissed.”
The server soon left.
After Odert locked the door from the inside, he whispered to his subordinates, “Let's get to work.” The two men placed the suitcases in their hands on the table. Once they opened it, the listening devices were exposed to the air.
The two men swiftly put on the headphones, seemingly trained. Then they placed the listening devices against the wall.
The next second, they could hear Nathan and his family's conversation clearly.
Odert slowly took a seat and crossed his leg before sipping on the tea. He lazily instructed, “Remember to turn on the recording function and record everything they're saying. I hope we'll be able to filter out some useful things from there.”
“Yes, Sir!”
While Odert and the others were eavesdropping on Nathan and his family, someone suddenly knocked on the door.
Immediately, Odert's subordinates turned to look at their superior.
