Salute to the General novel Chapter 2648

Hearing that, Enrique blanched in horror. He was about to plead for forgiveness when Colin sprang into action.

Crack, crack!

Two horrible sounds of bones cracking pierced the air.

Colin had actually broken Enrique's legs!

Enrique rolled around on the ground and yelled in anguish, “Ow!”

In the Cabinet, Erwin was sitting in the Cabinet secretary's seat. He was holding the Cabinet meeting on behalf of Zion.

His expression was stern as he said, “Everyone, President Woods' illness has deteriorated. The doctor made it clear after the surgery ended. His condition is critical now. If he can make it past forty-eight hours, he can survive for some time. If he fails to make it through, you know what will happen next.”

Everyone sported varying expressions.

They had heard that the President was getting better. Never in their wildest dreams did they expect his condition to deteriorate without warning.

Could it really be the medication provided by Cross Group? If we had known this would happen, we wouldn’t have agreed to use the medicine to treat President Woods. That way, he'll get to live a few years more!

Erwin surveyed the crowd and said sternly, “President Woods is under observation in the ICU. The next forty-eight hours will be critical. His life is in danger, but we need to find out the reason behind the deterioration of his condition. Was it medical malpractice or something else? If it was medical malpractice, and there was a problem with the medicine Cross Group provided, we need to hold them accountable. No matter how powerful the person in charge is, we need to arrest the person and make him or her pay for it!”

The Cabinet members shared a look.

The person in charge of Cross Group? He is talking about the Chief Military Governor's wife, Penny Smith!

Erwin was telling them to arrest the person in charge no matter how powerful he or she was. In other words, Penny would be arrested the moment they found any evidence to tie her to the matter.

Suddenly, everyone realized that the usually gentle Erwin had shown his true colors. He wanted to wipe his enemies out, including the influential Chief Military Governor!

If the results of the investigation showed that the President's condition had worsened because of medical malpractice, Penny would most probably be held accountable. Besides, the medicine Cross Group provided wasn't approved by the relevant authorities. Technically, she had broken the law.
