Salute to the General novel Chapter 2658

Nathan exclaimed, “No! To my knowledge, Will and the Holmeses are close. Since we're still unsure if Will is worthy of our trust, we can’t hastily direct his team to arrest Erwin. Otherwise, we'll get the opposite effect.”

Hailey began to panic a little. “Things don't look good if Will is on Erwin's side. The two hundred thousand soldiers in Brimmopolis are all under Will's command. They are his men. If Erwin and Will decide to do something reckless, won’t it be perilous, then?”

Nathan said, “Calm down. Will might not take Erwin's side and do something reckless. Of course, we can't fully trust him as well. The best way now is to keep an eye on them. If they don't make any move, we’ll stay silent too. We still have a few more hours left until the President's crucial forty-eight hours pass. Once he gets through it, we'll report the situation to him, then cooperate with the other departments to take down Erwin. That is the best solution for now.”

Hailey said, “You're still the most considerate, Chief Cross. Let us, the Secret Service, take charge of monitoring Erwin and Will.”

“Yes, that is the favor I need from you. Remember, you must be cautious and don't tip them off that we're monitoring them. Otherwise, they might do something reckless.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Nathan ended the call and sat back in his chair with his eyes shut.

He was contemplating every possible future scenario that could happen and the solution to every one of them.

Right then, two raps on the door broke his concentration.

Nathan lifted his eyelids and said

calmly, “Enter.”

The door opened and revealed Kylie helping Penny into the room.

The second Nathan saw Penny, a smile stretched across his face, and gentleness replaced the graveness in his expression. “What brings you here, Honey?”

Penny chuckled. “I'm here to see you.”

Nathan smiled. “How do you feel?”
