Salute to the General novel Chapter 2703

A huge crowd was gathered at The Great Common Hall in Brimmopolis that day.

Representatives from various industries and walks of life were all there.

That aside, there were also countless journalists with cameras at the ready. They all wanted to capture the best angles and pictures for their news report, witnessing the inauguration of the new president, Nathan.

At that moment, Fate was in an exquisite suit, sitting elegantly in the VIP section for foreign guests. He had been waiting for the ceremony to begin and for Nathan to appear with a half-smile on his face.

The assassins from the eight countries he had bought with him this time had taken on a myriad of identities. They had either infiltrated into the ranks of the foreign guests or masqueraded as foreign journalists and hid among the journalists like a pack of wolves lying in wait for their target to appear before striking a fatal blow.

He swept his gaze around the hall, furtively doing a headcount of his assassin team.

He ascertained that most of the team had taken their positions and were ready to make a move, with the exception of Nine Lights and Mido Swordman. There was no sign of them.

His brows knitted together imperceptibly.

The two men were the best fighters in the Dragon Slayer Team, but they were also the most difficult to keep in line.

By then, the inauguration ceremony was moments away from commencing.

Yet, the two of them still hadn't made an appearance.

Displeasure inundated Fate.

At that precise moment, a subordinate beside him whispered, “Boss, Nine Lights and Mido Swordman haven't made an appearance. I wonder if they've sneaked in successfully.”

“While they are quite capable, we can still accomplish our mission without them. Just stick with the plan,” Fate replied placidly.

“Understood!” the subordinate answered.

Just then, a burst of applause rang out in the hall.

A robust middle-aged man in a white shirt and black suit pants, complete with a gray jacket, was walking up the stage with steady steps.

That was none other than the Cabinet secretary, Zion Lucas.

Standing before the microphone with his back straight, Zion lifted his hand and saluted everyone smilingly.

Then, he started with a casual smile, “Good morning, fellow friends, venerated guests, esteemed journalists, and everyone else in front of the television. As you all know, we have recently selected the new president. Today is the day Mr. Nathan Cross transitions from being the acting president to taking office as the President officially. Let's all witness this historical moment together!”

As his words fell, the audience broke out in thunderous applause.

Zion watched while they cheered for a long time before he lifted his hand to request silence. Beaming, he announced, “I now declare the official commencement of the inauguration ceremony of the new president!”

In a flash, the lights in the hall went dim.

The audience exclaimed softly.

On the heels of that, the huge screen behind the podium abruptly lit up.

The picture of the office in the White House was projected on the screen.

In the solemn President's office, Nathan was sitting on the chair ramrod straight in a white shirt, black suit pants, and black suit jacket.
