Salute to the General novel Chapter 2717

Night had dawned when Hideo and Bentley were seized by the police. They were dragged into the police car in the hospital parking lot.

Bentley had his head low as he followed the police listlessly while Hideo limped along.

The latter swept his gaze across the parking lot, trying to shake off the policemen so he could walk on his own.

“Hurry up, man. Don't waste our time. We still have to take your statement after we reach the precinct,” Rafael, the deputy captain of the criminal investigation team, yelled.

Suddenly, a dark shadow swooshed past in front of a tree nearby and came directly toward them.

Rafael was alerted. He reached for his gun, but he quickly realized it was nothing but a big black bat.

Then, the bat flew off frantically into the dark as if it was afraid of Rafael.

The man stood there awkwardly, trying to conceal his embarrassment for having been frightened by an animal. “What a stupid creature,” he said shortly. “But it's big though.” When the captain turned back toward the group again, he realized Hideo and Bentley looked alert.

Rafael soon realized that they were staring at something behind him, so he trailed their gaze and turned around again.

What the—

Under the moonlight, Rafael saw a debonair young man in a black suit standing right in front of him.

From his features, it was apparent that he was a foreigner. He appeared extraordinarily exquisite in the posh and lofty aura he gave off.

Everything about him was perfect— except for his skin tone. He was too fair.

Rafael looked at the man from head to the toe. “Who are you?” he asked. “Do you speak English?”

The man responded with a smile. “My name is Karlis,” he said articulately in English.
