Salute to the General novel Chapter 2757

After Catherine and Morse left, Annie and Max were left all alone, save for two bodyguards in the living hall.

“I apologize for the incident tonight. I was not aware that the werewolves' mission tonight almost endangered Ms. Catherine and Mr. Morse.”

Annie shook her head. “This was an accident and surely not your intention, Admiral Max. You need not feel guilty over this.”

“I feel something is amiss, though. I remember Ms. Catherine as someone who did not care for Eurasia, and I heard that Mr. Moore had always been a staunch anti-Eurasia man. Why do I feel like that has changed? It seems like they're not that against Eurasia anymore.”

“I don't think they have had a change in their stance. However, they almost died in the hands of the werewolves today. I think it's more likely that they're anguished,” Annie said. “Besides, I think that they are against the idea of attacking Nathan Cross within Eagleland. After all, Eagleland will have to suffer the gesticulation of the world if Nathan Cross dies here.”

“Nathan is a gifted man, to say the least. He has only used ten years' time to ascend to the position of becoming the de facto leader of Eurasia. Eurasia is on the rise, and it's going to stomp all the countries in Adrune when it's at the top. We will be mere subjects to Eurasia by then as it tramples all over us. Our countries are brethren to one another. If Nathan does not die, he will become the single biggest threat to countries like us, who have dominated the globe for centuries. Hence, we have to take the opportunity to get rid of him during his trip to Eagleland this time. Otherwise, when he's back in Eurasia, it will be difficult for us to get our hands on him.”

Annie nodded in agreement. “Yes, we should strike while the iron is hot. Eurasia's stance on matters has been getting radical recently. They're even collaborating with Remdik to go up against the countries in Adrune. This has everything to do with Nathan. If we do not eradicate him, he will be the end of us all.”

“Do not worry, Your Majesty. Let me get rid of him. After the deed is done, all you need to do is to deny all involvement in the matter. Just let the werewolves take the blame.”

Annie smiled. “Yes, that is a great idea. I'll leave this to you then, Admiral Max.”

“Sure,” Max replied with a smile.

Then, he took a look at his watch and stood up. With a smile, he said, “Your Majesty, it is getting late. Thank you for the coffee. Tonight has been a good catch-up, though we have not been blessed with news of Nathan's death. I am afraid I have to take my leave now. I have an appointment with werewolves from Shadow Fang as we need to decide on our next course of action.”

Annie rose from her seat and said, “I wish you a safe journey ahead, Admiral Max. Guards, please send Admiral Max off.”
