Salute to the General novel Chapter 2779

Everyone was in shock, and they couldn't pry their gaze away from Nathan. Their eyes also glowed in a way like they were witnessing a miracle.

If Nathan wasn't a Eurasian and his opponent wasn't a duke, the citizens of Eaglcland would likely already go on their knees and worship Nathan.

“Carlos, jump three times, and that'll corner his piece. Penny, take out her bishop with your knight.”

As Nathan fought Szymon, he issued clear orders to Carlos and Penny. He never even looked at the boards. It proved that he knew the games so well that he didn't need to check anything.

Even though Nathan was dealing with an international expert like Westley and a prodigy like Sandy, he was as cool as a cucumber and could instruct Carlos and Penny without having to think much.

On the other hand, both Westley and Sandy had to take their time to strategize. The calm grin on them had since faded and was replaced by anxious sweat.

Nathan was fighting against three opponents. He was fighting while telling Carlos and Penny what to do. Yet, he never needed to even glance at the board.

Despite all that, every single one of his moves was strategic and good.

When Westley and Sandy realized just how skilled Nathan was, they knew that they were facing the worst enemy they had ever met.

Neither dared to relax. They went all out and thought long and hard before moving their pieces.

They were both experts in their respective fields and had earned a number of international competitions.

Still, they were having a hard time against Nathan, despite giving the game everything they had.

Westley kept getting cornered and had to sacrifice his pieces to save the game. Hence, he was in more and more trouble as time passed.

Sandy wasn't having much luck in chess either.

Nathan's Queen was exposed, so all she had to do was take that out of the board. That would set the stage that would, in turn, ensure her victory. Unfortunately, every time she was about to get close to the Queen, Nathan would retaliate in the most graceful way.

Things were progressing less and less favorably for Sandy. For a moment there, she was almost certain that the pieces could talk and mocked her.

If things kept progressing that way, Sandy wouldn't just be defeated. Her defeat would be certain!
